This page of my web site is dedicated to my engine rebuild project. I
bought this engine 25 years ago as a O SMOH by an AP mechanic. It has
served me well with 1100 hours of flying time but the oil pressure is down to 25
PSI, the large case stud that holds a cylinder down is pulling out and needs a
helicoil so it's time for a bottom overhaul. I've had my engine case open
to install a pull starter and I've gone thru a couple of cylinder replacements
but in the 25 years I've owned this engine it has not been rebuilt. 25
years, 1100 hours. I expect this will be the last bottom overhaul in my
life.
